F1 2011 XBox

Well, it’s not very often that I talk about games, but this had to be an exception.

Got the game today, although the official release date is tomorrow, and after playing just a bit I can tell the game is amazing.

Where do I start? The sound has improved a lot, graphics are nicer and crisp, with more detail than last year’s game.

The handling has definitely improved as well. It’s now much easier to handle the car, and took me just a couple of laps to be able to use my wheel properly.

The KERS and DRS are nice additions, but it gets a bit of getting used to. Definitely do not use DRS on high speed corners or you’ll be looking at the amazing detail of the grass.

Of course adding to the official 2011 teams we also have all the tracks, 16 players online and my favourite, co-op career mode.

This last one is one of the features I was looking forward and can’t wait to start a co-op career with my friends :)

And now is time to head back to the racing seat!

Brüno

OK, so where do I start?

This movie is brilliant. Its shocking, is way out there, it pushes boundaries to places no one never thought of going before. And is amazingly cool.

I went to see this movie today, actually just arrived from the cinema, and everyone was laughing from minute one until the end. And in the end people were clapping.

Its a funny movie, but if you get impressed very easily, then maybe this is not the movie for you. There is a lot of explicit sexual content, so, don’t take your kids to see this movie as well (is 18+ for some reason).

Virgin UK Broadband service (fiber optic)

I have subscribed Virgin Media broadband services one month ago (August 2008), and so far I am delighted for the quality of the service.

I selected the 2MB package, as is more than enough for my usage. It gives a 2MB download speed, with 256KB upload speed. The installation was fast, and the service has worked flawlessly 24/7 so far.

At the night I sometimes make intense usage of the line, and no problems were reveled. During the day, if I go over the 500MB download usage, the speed is cut by half, but during the day I am not doing to much surfing, so no problem here.

I would recomend the service to whoever wants a reliable service, without having the need for a phone line at an aditional cost per month.

Phoenix Premium 1080P HDMI DVD Player

I have recently bought this dvd for £35, and despite some reviews saying that is not that good, I have a completly different opinion.

This player can read everything I throw to him: DVDs (is region free), divx movies, xvid movies, mp3.

It supports an external drive, using a usb 2.0 connection. The only limitation is that the external drive must be formated as FAT or FAT32. It does not support NTFS.

It has 5.1 sound, as well an SPDIF output. I use the 5.1 output and is really great. There is also the SCART connector, the composite connector and, the one I use, the HDMI connector.

When you use the HDMI, you can upscale all the media that you are seeing on the dvd. I’ve been seeing Battlestar Galactica and X-Files upscaled to 1080p and the difference for the normal resolution is abysmal. It seems like I am there (this is special true on X-Files, which is a older show).

The remote works well, giving all the functions needed. The player is also very small, and it does not overheat, and also operates very silently.

Overall, it is a good product to buy. There are probably better options on the market, but for £35 this is a bargain.

Command & Conquer 3 and Kane’s Wrath

Well, this game has been out there for a long time. As the picture says, since March. And I have been playing it a long time.

But now I have some little free time (very little), and will start making some reviews of the games I’ve bought.

After this one there will be for Sega Rally, Colin McRae Dirt, Bishock, Need for Speed Carbon and Hellgate London. Yes, they are all old games, but maybe after these I can make some review of a more recent game.

Starting with Command & Conquer 3, i enjoyed the game very much, until it ended.

The units are very nice, and with the last patch is very balanced. Some of the missions may seem hard, but with some trial and error you can easily pass them.

The new race just have a couple of missions, with is a shame, because I really loved the species. The units are great, and I would like to have explored that a little more.

I was hopping for a little more from the endings, where it was kind of disappointing to me.

The expansion is all about the NOD. Granted there are now factions, and the new mode Conquer the World, but is not enough. I would like to be able to explore the history from Command & Conquer 3, and to play a little more with the third race.

I hope there will be a new expansion, or tow (on for the GDI and one for the Aliens).

In overal, is a game that after 6 months of owning it still makes me want to play it :)

Rating Command & Conquer 3: 8/10

Rating Command & Conquer 3 – Kane’s Wrath: 7/10
