Madeira Holidays in 2008

We are already into 2009, but the end of 2008 was good. In overall, 2008 was a good year.

I’v moved into a new country, with all the changes that brings to a person. Been working for six months in England, and so far has been very good.

In the 2008 Christmas, I went to visit my family in the homeland. It was good to see the family again, and visit the island as well.

Therefore, to share the magnificent island from where I came from, here are some photos from different points of it.

Happy new year.

Almost Christmas

Is now time to start my holidays.

In a couple of days I’m flying home, finally to see my family and get some nice mom-made homecooking meals. It will be also nice to be on a country where the Sun actually shines.

It will be a while until I come back with news, mostly pictures of how Madeira is looking this days. Since I will only be back after Christmas, let me say to all of you:

A Merry Christmas

What’s happening in London

Its been a while since I’ve written my mind.

Well, live in London goes well, work is great, with a really good relationship and atmosphere inside the office.

This is almost Christmas time, but for some reason in London we don’t see many festive lights around the city. I know that in Madeira this has already started. Good thing that in a couple of weeks I’ll be back home and will be able to grab some photos of the illuminations.

London seems very quiet about this season. If it wasn’t for the around 0°C at evenings, you could forget that it is Christmas time and winter is here.

Even last week there was some snow on Sunday, but since my Sundays start at around 11am, I didn’t got on time to the window to actually see it.

Buses are still slow, trains makes you feel like sardines and the cold tells you to stay home warm.
Lets see if I can get some photos of London this weekend…

To come, a review of Need for Speed Undercover for PC and PSP, and the movie X-Files: I Want to Believe. Stay tuned…

Don’t this scammers never learn?

Today I saw on gumtree.com a Mac Air for £300 pounds. Really strange right? But since I like a good laugh, I contacted the seller.

A few emails back and forward, and then he tells me that ebay is going to send an invoice so that I can pay the price.

First, I didn’t know that ebay had bought the domain security-center-protection.com. I mean, if you want to scam someone, at least learn how to send fake emails.

Second, I would have guess that ebay would use a spell check. English is not my primary language, so I still make a lot of mistakes, but ebay? Come on!

Third, this: “Our seller use MoneyGram Money Transfer due the fact is not able to use PayPal ,Escrow , Credit Card as a method of payment for the moment .” Geez, I wonder why?

Then more rubbish on how to try to scam. Below you can find a text only version of the “nice” email I received.

Well, better luck next time. By the way, this is the email the scammer used: nick_thomson48@yahoo.co.uk. So if you receive emails from this guy, don’t fall for it, as it is 99.9% a scam for sure.

Email (I wont even spell check this):

Stupid warnings

Today on my way to work I saw on the train the following: “In case of emergency is better to stay on the train.” Lets say there is a fire, or worse, a Al Qaeda bomb on the train. Maybe people are bound to be on the train and become a nice barbecue. I mean, come on? There may be situations where is better to stay on, but always?

The this other day I asked for a coffee, and on the cup was written: “Careful, may be hot”. Oh really?

Maybe people should put on the water bottles something like: “Careful, if you drink your thirst may be killed.”

Have you guys ever heard of a simple thing called common sense? Everyone knows the coffee is hot, and everyone knows that facing danger they will run as far as they can get.

Have a nice day readers.
